Summer Events
As summer comes to an end and yields to cooler upcoming temperatures and back-to-school routines, the Richmond area is hosting a variety of fun events to help wrap up the season in style. From making and floating your own water lantern to stretching out in a yoga session followed by a beer, our real estate agents recommend the following end-of-summer events in the Richmond area:

Front Lawn Fun - August 13, 2024, 10 a.m.-noon - Virginia Museum of History Culture, 428 N. Arthur Ashe Blvd., Richmond, VA 23220
All ages - especially elementary and middle school kids - will love having some Front Lawn Fun while learning about how kids played in the past. Games like jacks and playing with a yo-yo are old school, but they may be considerably older than you may think. The popular Richland Water Lantern Festival has been named a #1 Cultural Festival by USA Today readers. It creates an amazing, unforgettable sight as thousands of lanterns float on the water, each with soft lights that reflect on it. With almost every type of ticket, you'll get a floating lantern kit so you can use your creativity to make your own lantern and set it in the water to join a fleet of others. Other fun activities include listening to live music, participating in a scavenger hunt, and enjoying food and beverages from food trucks.
Back to School Market - August 25, 2024, 2 p.m.-6 p.m. - 1603 Ownby Ln., Richmond, VA 23255
For the fifth year, the Back to School Market will bring fun to Main Line Brewery and give you the chance to support local businesses and artisans. A local artisan market will sell unique, creative items to purchase for yourself or as gifts for others. Live music will provide additional entertainment, and games will be on site for kids to play. Feel free to bring your pooch along to this dog-friendly event.
